All the context you really need:
Beyond that, you're on your own. Feel free to peruse the blog for past zine issues and more story clues.
This zine is ultimately an attempt to stave off boredom and make peace with the fact that I truly don't know when I'll leave Caledon. I spent a year in Toronto when I went to school there, but that didn't end up working out.
I was practically mute throughout middle school and high school so I'm also in the process of trying to recover from that. I figured rewriting this town into my own melodrama might help alleviate some bad blood. À la Take Back The City.
This story itself is inspired by classic creepypasta material such as the SCP Foundation and 1999, the latter of which actually takes place in Caledon. Originally I wanted to do an adaptation of 1999 but upon further reflection decided I am not yet equipped to tackle a story about a child murderer, fictional or otherwise. So I decided to write something lighter. Something I would have fun writing.
I'm perfectly capable of writing conventional, respectable stories but I'm always drawn back to melodrama, so this zine is an outlet for me to be shamelessly campy. If you enjoy it, I'm glad. If you don't, feel free to air your grievances with me behind the Tim Hortons downtown.
